A Paranormal Investigation

The Fire & Police Museum

Sheffield

Sheffield Fire & Police Museum has been named one of the most haunted buildings in the country by ghost hunters who claim to have discovered paranormal activity.

Ghostly goings on have spooked staff at the museum at West Bar for more than two decades.

Sightings have been reported of a woman and child said to walk around the third floor.

There are notices warning visitors that they may feel a spine tingling sensation when they are in the building.

Ghost hunters while doing vigils inside claim the building is one of the most haunted in South Yorkshire.

There are also shadows and cold spots which are significant signs of paranormal activity.

The building which became a museum in the 1980's, opened about 1900 as a police and fire station. Firefighters moved out in 1929 and the police decamped to the neighbouring Wesr Bar police station in 1965. The building was left derelict until it was acquired by South Yorkshire Historical Society in 1980.
