Ghost Hunting Equipment Summary

Electro Motive Force Meter (EMF). The EMF Meter is used to detect unusual electrical or magnetic field differences that are often indicative of possible paranormal activity in a specific area.

Infra-red Digital Thermometer. This equipment is a hand held device that emits an infra-red light beam that is beyond the light spectrum perceived by the human eye. It is used to detect and track rapid and isolated fluctuations in room temperatures. Again, temperature change can be indicative of possible spirit presence.

Passive Infra-red Detectors. The PIR sensor will detect movement or a heat source crossing its beam. It is linked to a mini-alarm. If anything is detected then the alarm will sound, indicating a presence. The PIR is used to seal off a room to ensure that there has been no human intervention in that room.

Environmental Meter. This meter is used to measure humidity, temperature, sound and light levels all at once. It is often used to make comparisons room to room. Large variations will often give the team cause for further investigation of that area.

O-Lux (Night Vision) Camcorder. This equipment is able to capture and record pictures in a dark room that are unseen by the human eye. An example of this is in the capture of the phenomenon known as orbs. These are reputed to be present in areas of paranormal activity and can often be seen on the pictures taken.

Digital Cameras. As with the above, these cameras record digital images that require no film or processing. It is also possible to capture orbs on these cameras and view them when the pictures are downloaded to a computer for scrutiny.

Canum Sound Meters. It is often said that certain animals behave oddly at times of paranormal activity because they are able to hear sounds in the higher frequency ranges that humans cannot. This meter detects and registers sounds in those higher frequencies.

Trigger Objects. This is an object of significance i.e. a crucifix etc., that a paranormal investigator places in a strategic position to provoke a measurable activity or response in that area.
